Rained during the night and at times to day. Harry busy in Mill. I sewing. Margaret had intended to go to Fryers, but weather prevented. I sent letters to Clara and Bella. Harry at West Chester to night. I have felt very tired to day, and sleepy. Raining very heavey to night. I hear I. Walton Martin died to day from Strangulation of the Bowels.

Strangulation of the Bowel.  Sounds very painful!
